Why Choose 2000 Series Alloys?

These alloys contain copper as the primary alloying element, providing exceptional strength and performance. However, some grades are susceptible to stress corrosion cracking, making them unsuitable for arc welding without specific procedures.

For optimal results, solution heat treatment is recommended.

Welding and Application

While some 2000 Series alloys are non-weldable due to their susceptibility to hot cracking, others can be successfully arc welded with high-strength 2xxx series fillers or 4xxx series fillers containing silicon or silicon-copper, depending on the application requirements.
